Migration Process
- Upload your backup archive to the server (via panel file manager, SFTP, or URL download)
- Analyze — BlitzPress scans the archive to detect the source format, find the WordPress root, locate SQL dumps, and identify the original domain
- Import — the migration wizard:
- Extracts files to the new site directory
- Creates a fresh MariaDB database with new credentials
- Imports the SQL dump
- Updates
wp-config.phpwith new database credentials - Runs search-replace to update all URLs from the old domain to the new one
- Sets correct file permissions (755 dirs, 644 files, 640 wp-config.php)
- Creates OLS virtual host
- Issues SSL certificate
- Deploys BlitzPress mu-plugins and cache stack
Exporting a Site
To export a site from BlitzPress (for backup or migration away):
- Go to your site → Export
- BlitzPress creates a portable
.tar.gzcontaining all WordPress files + a full database dump - Download the archive from the panel
Exports are stored at /opt/blitzpress/exports/{domain}_{date}.tar.gz
