Quick Start Guide

Get up and running in 5 minutes

BlitzPress is a BYOS (Bring Your Own Server) WordPress hosting panel. You provide a VPS from any cloud provider, and BlitzPress turns it into a high-performance WordPress hosting machine.

Prerequisites

  • A fresh VPS with Debian 11/12/13 or Ubuntu 22.04/24.04
  • Minimum 1GB RAM (2GB+ recommended for multiple sites)
  • Root or sudo access
  • A domain name (optional for initial setup)

Step 1: Create Your Account

Sign up at app.blitzpress.dev/register. The Starter plan is free — no credit card required. You get 1 server and 6 WordPress sites.

Step 2: Connect Your Server

From the panel dashboard, click “Connect Server”. You will see a one-line install command:

curl -sSL /install | bash -s -- <your-server-token>

SSH into your VPS and paste this command. The installer (v1.3) will automatically set up:

  • OpenLiteSpeed — high-performance web server with native LSCache + QUIC/HTTP3
  • PHP 8.5/8.4/8.3/8.2/8.1/7.4 — full extension set (igbinary, Redis, imagick, intl)
  • Percona Server (or MariaDB fallback) — MySQL-compatible, WordPress-tuned
  • Redis — in-memory object cache (256MB LRU)
  • Docker + Compose — for Postal email, phpMyAdmin, container apps
  • BorgBackup + rclone — incremental backups with remote storage (S3, B2, GDrive)
  • acme.sh — automatic Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates
  • ClamAV + Linux Malware Detect — on-demand malware scanning
  • fail2ban + UFW — firewall and brute-force protection
  • WP-CLI — WordPress command-line management
  • 42 agent command modules — site creation, SSL, backups, staging, and more
  • 7 security mu-plugins — cache optimization, hardening, Cloudflare autopurge

Installation takes 3-5 minutes. Once complete, your server appears in the panel dashboard with live CPU, RAM, and disk metrics.

Step 3: Create Your First Site

Click “Create Site”, enter your domain name, choose a PHP version, and click create. BlitzPress handles everything:

  1. WordPress download and installation
  2. Database creation with secure credentials
  3. Redis object cache + LSCache page cache enabled
  4. SSL certificate issued (if DNS is pointed)
  5. Security headers and 7G WAF rules applied
  6. 7 performance mu-plugins deployed (immutable)
  7. System cron replacing WP-Cron

Your site is live with an 89+ PageSpeed score out of the box.
